The best arepas in NYC!!!!! My first meal every time I come back to Brooklyn.
Second time making it out here. They have the best Venezuelan arapas. I got the one with shredded chicken and fried plantains. The sauces are so good and the masa is light and fluffy with a crisp outside.
Solid steak and chicken bowls
This place used to be good, but has fallen off a cliff in service and quality. Orders took forever and then arrived cold
I'm giving it a 1 because they left me on the phone for over 15 minutes, and I can hear the person answering the phone talking and laughing. It's disrespectful to customers.
Great place, good food. Atmosphere will be nice too if the cashier/waiter wasn't fighting very, very loud on the phone the whole time that we were there (almost an hour).
Came here twice on my nyc trip and believe me that says a lot
Best service ever, amazing people. Felt like home, had an hallaca, they’re putting together their Christmas decoration, and traditional music. I had a great time, definitely coming back. So proud of this people from Venezuela
Absolute delicious! The sauces are incredible, along with the burritos! Definitely a place to check out!
Amazing food! Better and fresher than Chipotle
A very nice place, with excellent service✨
Sorry. Have been giving them a lot of business over the years. Big fan. Everything now is so salty it’s unbearable. Just ordered a pulled chicken bowl with no plantains (allergy thing ) Plantains in full effect. I love a platano but can’t eat it. ♂️
These guys are great! Food is delicious, healthy, made with care. Not even the fried items are greasy! You can tell they use high-quality ingredients even though this is casual food. Also, the fact that they offer eco-friendly, recyclable packaging for their delivery orders is just going above and beyond!
Great food but more of a take out spot than a dine in
On my vacation to NY I ordered delivery twice. The empanadas were delicious, the Tequeños were super small, and the only thing I liked about the cachapa was the cheese. The prices are high but it's NY.
Great arepas and the cachapa were very authentic and GLUTEN FREE
Food was amazing, very authentic, clean atmosphere and friendly staff. We will be frequent customers
I loved this place !! I had an incredible experience because their arepa was delicious .Please go to this restaurant and enjoy their food !!
The best people and best food!!!
Soo my boyfriend brought me a chicken Bowl from here and let me tell you, the food is so fresh, and absolutely Delicious! I could honestly eat this everyday. This place is a Gem! 10/10
If you ever want to try Venezuelan food, you should definitely go to White Maize! The empanadas are really good, and the tequeños are incredible.nnThe ambience is pretty cozy, with a comfortable set up perfect to dine in.nnThe host is really cute, and lovely.nnI’m definitely going back soon!
Incredible food. I could die for the pulled beef. The ambience is incredible, and the food is to die for. It’s definitely one of my favorite restaurants.
White Maize in Brooklyn exceeded all expectations! The food was absolutely amazing - each dish bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, offering excellent recommendations. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxing meal with friends or family. I highly recommend White Maize for anyone looking to enjoy delicious food served with exceptional hospitality. Can't wait to visit again!
I love the food at White Maize every time. Totally reliable and tasty. The service is reliably very disappointing unfortunately. I highly recommend not ordering close to their opening time. They often open later than posted because the host doesn’t show up on time. Just show up half an hour after their posted opening time, focus on how tasty it is, and you’ll love it.
Very bad, I do not recommend it. It says Venezuelan here but there is no garlic sauce, there is no chicha, the empanada is small and tasteless, the arepa is normal, really, I traveled an hour and looked for parking to have a bad experience. I don't know how they have 4.5, I don't understand, improve the food and typical products, no frescolita or malta
White Maize has been on my list for a long time, so once I had a reason to be in Carroll Gardens, I decided to finally check it out! I walked in around 3:30pm on a Thursday, and I was the sole customer. They have a small (~ 6 small parties) seating area and restrooms for those who want to dine in, and whoever was in control of the music was a Swiftie! I will say that both times I have been here the person working the register has not been the most alert, but apologetic once I got their attention.nnI got the pulled pork bowl ($15.16), which is an elevated Chipotle bowl. I went for the bowl over the arepas because 1 arepa was almost the same price, and I felt like the bowl would be more filling. If you prefer smaller meals, I think you can get the most bang for your buck with the bowl, since you can split it into 2 meals. I was starving, so I consumed it all in one sitting, and it was filling indeed! I felt like the ingredient selection and quality justified the price, and the plantains were definitely a highlight! The pulled pork was juicy and well flavored, rice was on the softer side, and the tomatoes in the salsa (under avocado in picture) were delicious. My only critique of this bowl is that the layout is pretty but not practical for mixing.nnOverall, I wouldn't go out of my way for White Maize but I will be a regular when I have business in the area!
Great food! They also have vegetarian and vegan options.
Excellent place! The service was very good and the food even better. The place was very neat…highly recommended!
Dude don't put bottles in a paper bag for delivery orders, it's common sense it will go through it and make a mess smh.
They forgot the put in utilizes what we supposed to eat with our feet.
Delicious arepas! Kind of expensive but they’re packed full to the brim. Plantains are AMAZING! Crispy in the outside, juicy on the inside.
