Check their daily specials! All worth it!
Great food, great service
Very lovely dining experience. Food is good and prices are decent. Staff and owners are very friendly. Dining area and kitchen are very clean. They deliver as well!
Its Nice place to eat and its a nice place to hangout!!
Popped in for a lunch after seeing the wahoo special (husband's choice) I had grilled shrimp with garlic, both were absolutely delicious! And the rice and beans and cabbage salad were great too. Enjoyed it so much we went back for breakfast the next day too, which was also great!
Great food at an affordable price. Service was very good, food a little slow to come out of the kitchen but worth waiting for.
The Local and the Gringa was our go to lunch spot for the three weeks that we stayed on Utila. Everything was delicious and the woman working there were very friendly and accommodating. Our personal favorite dishes were the whole fried snapper and the Honduran tacos. The breadfruit was always perfectly done too!!
This was my husband's favorite place on the island! The food was really good and it was.more affordable than other restaurants. Wish we could have gone back before we left Utila!
Brilliant food with big portions and amazing service. Would highly recommend.
I love their new location and the touch of love Amber and Levy have brought to this local neighborhood gem. Convienently located on the side of the main street, their vibes are comfy and down to earth that both locals and travelers can enjoy. I love their local style of cooking mixed with a little touch from home as a gringa myself and would recommend their food to anyone looking for a comfort meal. Try out their Utilian fried breadfruit and the pork barbecue and enjoy getting a little glimpse from their porch of our island home
Where do I begin!! I’ve been looking for local food other than baleadas. LOOK NO FURTHER!nnI got the local special for lunch. The beans and rice were cooked to an absolute perfection!!! Snapper just melted in my mouth. New to me was the bread fruit. WOW!!! Was pleasantly surprised!! The portion was really good. You will not walk away hungry!!!nnThe restaurant is located upstairs, and has a lovely view of the bustling city below. They have one of the cleanest kitchens I’ve seen on the island.nnMy favorite part though, the owner Amber was giving food to the local kids who were running up and down the stairs with the biggest smiles “earning” food!nnSimply put “The Local and the Gringa” is Utila!!!’ Best food on the whole island…hands down!!
The freshest Caribbean Cooking with the sweetest sunset view.nnSunday night's they do a Roasted Pig. Get that breadfruit while it's in season! Great spot for lunch or dinner - right on the dock with a good sunset view. The lunch plates are a great bang for your buck. Big portions, good price. The burger sauce I would buy in a jar if they sold it. 10/10
Some friends and I stopped by this place for lunch and got the fresh kingfish. Everything was great and the atmosphere was perfect. Awesome little gem in Utila.
One of our favorite sunset spots on the island! My husband and I shared a fresh-caught grilled red fish platter and we left bellies full! Wow, it was delicious! Friendly staff and great waterfront spot. Colocated with The Pub, so you can also get local beers - not sure it gets much better than this!
The grilled fresh fish a decadent, views and fresh beers were amazing as well.
Great food and super nice people!
This restaurant is located with Utila Brewing Company. The owners Levi and Amber are absolutely wonderful people! Levi runs Island Tours and Rentals and was my captain for our fishing trip. He brought the fish we caught back to the restaurant and cooked it up for us. It wasn't an absolutely wonderful meal with the two of them. They specialize in Honduran flavored food which is a welcome change to some of the food you get on the island. Stop in. Have a beer and a wonderful meal!
This is a great sunset spot!!! The restaurant is in the central part of the town. They have a dock you where you can go for a swim and a fresh water shower!! The Local and the Gringa or Levy and Amber are lovely host, happy to tell you about the local foods and treats. Levy also has a chapter business for touring the island and you definitely want to ask about day trips to Water Cay! The restaurant offer a different special each night that keeps you coming back! -You have to try to pork options my personal favorite baked pork leg on sunday and the pulled pork sandwich!!! They have fresh juices and there is a bar that is part of a small brewery on the island!nnWhat else can I say... Just try it! You'll leave happy you did!
We love coming to eat here. The lunch is a great price and delicious local Utila food. This is also a great place to see sunsets and have a fresh juice.
We had lunch here when they weren’t even really open, the owner offered us local eats, my hubby needed some gringo food… they totally pulled it off. The local dish was incredible, and his burger and fries hit the spot. Their Jamaica drink, was sooooo refreshing. We ate lunch with the local owner and chatted with his partner the gringa! Such a lovely couple. 10/10 recco eating here! They also have boats and services around Utila. Support local!!!
