Our family of 6 stayed 9 days at Coral View Resort over Christmas. We enjoyed breakfast every morning at Shell Del Mar prior to our daily activities- service was outstanding and portions were generous. The staff graciously catered to our special requests - the chef, Alex, even made surprise baleadas and pastelitos for a local treat. We enjoyed lunch and dinner most days either in the restaurant or delivered to the dock by the water. EVERYTHING was excellent- made to order-including piled high nachos, fresh guacamole, fish tacos, “signature” shrimp burgers, fried fish sandwich, loaded lobster Mac-n-cheese, Cobb salad, shrimp and steak kabobs and our favorite local “tostones” freshly prepared with plantains. We also enjoyed a fabulous Christmas Eve dinner that included choice of ham and turkey, fresh fish, or surf and turf with incredible sides of mashed potatoes, garden rice, sautéed vegetables and a poached pear with cream for dessert! It’s a good thing we were active with scuba diving, kayaking, hiking, snorkeling and exploring because the food was so good and very reasonably priced for our large family! Craving a shrimp burger while writing this review!!
It is written on the menu that it is mandatory to tip at least 10%. At the checkout, they cannot take it away (that is, even if they say in the answer that it is not true, in practice they force you to pay the tip!). It is totally unacceptable because it is ILLEGAL according to the law of the Honduran State!!!
The quality of the food is not bad, it is delicious but it can improve. We know that breakfasts are included in the stay but all the more reason they should have the experience of serving something good to ensure guests return. The place is clean, the service is very good and the location is quiet to eat in peace.
Everyone was amazing love the staff They went above and beyond
I am a big fan of seafood and was excited to try the Shell Del Mar at Coral View. It turned out to be one of the best meals I've had in years!nnWe loved the ambience, the service, and most importantly, the food. They have such a wide variety of seafood that we were able to share different dishes with each other. I highly recommend getting the 7 Seas Soup and the ceviche!
The view at sunset is breathtaking. Highly recommend starting your meal with the shrimp croquettes. The grilled snapper is out of this world and comes with 2 sides. The coconut rice and beans balances the fish very well. Don’t forget to ask for a side of their homemade hot sauce, it is fantastic (definitely the spiciest hot sauce on the island).
Very nice placenLove the nachos and sea soup, super nice our chef AlexnBut can be better the scallop pasta
This is a nice and affordable restaurant in Utila. The food was great. Make sure you try the shrimp and conch croquettes. The Buffalo cauliflower bites were good as well. The service was friendly and the food was prepared quickly. I would definitely return to this restaurant.
Great experience with food and the service.
