After reading the wonderful reviews and being in need of some quality food we were excited to try Bustavo.nnUnfortunately that excitement was short lived when we got there and waited... And waited... until we found someone who looked like they worked there and asked if they were open.n'Si', came the response from the girl who couldn't have looked any less bothered by our presence.nnUndeterred we took a seat only to realise we had to go back up and place our order. Something we deduced by more waiting as we weren't told anything.nnWhile we waited a group of older expats were greeted by what we could only presume to be the owner. They chatted like old friends and he seemed very warm however he didn't so much as give us a smile or a greeting that we had become quite accustomed to in friendly old. Ometepe. Especially as we were lining his pockets with a relatively large amount of money (it's definitely not cheap!)nnWhen the food finally arrived it really did live up to the hype and was the best we had eaten on the island though unfortunately the service and atmosphere left a bitter taste in our mouths and we will not be going back.
We stopped by here for lunch one day and really enjoyed the falafel plate and the beef wrap.nnNice setting and friendly staff.
Fresh, delicious and well prepared; cute middle Eastern resto on the side of the road surrounded by vegetation in Balgue on Ometepe. They make their own bread, coconut based vegan ice creams, and middle eastern specialties like hummus, falafels, babaghanoush, etc. incredible food and friendly service. Spot on.
We had dinner in the restaurant today. The food was very delicious and the ambiente is nice.nnUnfortunately, the welcome from the lady at the desk / reception was very weak. She couldn’t even say goodbye and we didn't receive a thank you. It was also too much to wish a nice evening. She unfortunately did not shine with motivation or politeness. A friendly service from the lady at the desk would make the experience even better.

Best meal we've had in Nicaragua so far, and way better than any middle eastern food I've had in Canada as well. The first time we had the arayes, which was so satisfying and full of delicious warm spice flavor. The mango gelato was super flavorful . We came back the next day and had a few different things and everything was both delicious and distinct! Absolutely would recommend! Also lots of cute kitties languishing:-)

The best Mediterranean food I have had in Central America. The falafel was very filling and flavorful. Also their banana bread was so good, I took it to go and didn’t eat it till the next day and was still so fresh and flavorful— so I only image the day of has to be just as, if not better.

Best food on Ometepe by a mile. The price is really reasonable, the food delicious - we came three times and loved everything we ate! And the vibes are immaculate. Do not miss!
One of my favourite food places on the island, home made bread and cinnamon rolls are fantastic. Pink panther drink is a classic. Vegan icecream is just the cherry on top. Very reasonable prices
