For anyone looking for vegan food in Nicaragua: go there!!!nLots of vegan options and also vegan alternatives (soy, seitan, vegan chorizo). We tried the vegan spaghetti carbonara, the portion filled us up and was really tasty! The restaurant specializes in vegan and vegetarian cuisine, but also serves fish and meat.nYou can sit there quite comfortably and look at a few boats. We were very happy! Muchas gracias :)
The service is good and there are good options on the menu.
Good place to eat, have a drink and watch the sunset. But, to sleep, there is a lot of noise from barking dogs (since they help in controlling pets), but at night there is too much noise.
Everything perfect.n100% recommendednGood attention
incredible vegetarian food!!
I love this place. It is in a great location with a wonderful view and the food is really good. I would also say because of it being a tourist attraction due to its location. The prices are well within reason. I try to go here every now and again, and it is always consistent. It is dog friendly and never really busy except for possibly on the weekends. If you come near sundown, make sure you bring mosquito repellent. I will repeat that bring mosquito repellent.
Traveling through Central America, I found this place beautiful! The restaurant serves breakfast through dinner, with a wide variety of vegetarian and vegan options. Everything is delicious, carefully prepared, and generous portions.nYou can also enjoy a professional and absolutely rejuvenating massage.nI recommend Las Penitas as a beach where you can relax and experience this authentic village in northern Nicaragua.
Delicious breakfast in an amazing location! Staff is super lovely too
I would give 0 stars if it were possible.nI booked the accommodation via booking and unfortunately had to cancel the accommodation.nAccording to the reservation policy, the booking could be canceled free of charge. However, the hotel still charged me for the entire stay and deducted it from my credit card.nThis is not acceptable.nI contacted the hotel and they first promised to refund the money. Then they didn't reply to me and haven't refunded the money to date. After I contacted them again, they offered to change the date which is not an option as I am not in Nicaragua anymore.nThis behavior is unacceptable to me and a rip-off.
I have travelled to las Penitas many times and stayed in many different hotels/hostels. Barca de Oro is a little hidden away but it feels like a retreat in the village. The staff are amazing, truly caring and attentive. Whatever you need, they will find a way to help you.nThe rooms are basic but clean and comfortable.nFor our family this was a great hotel and I highly recommend it.
Great service and a Nice place but got sick from the food ♂️
A must-see in Las Penitas! A wide selection of menu items at a very reasonable price compared to many other restaurants. I recommend this experience to anyone visiting Las Penitas! The owners are very welcoming and helpful. A sure favorite.
Excellent stay in barca de oro. The owner and her daughter were very welcoming and recommended many activities in the surrounding area. I recommend you without hesitation
A wonderful place, relaxing and full of kindness. The accommodations are excellent, the food is good, healthy and suitable for everyone. We particularly enjoyed meeting the waiters and owners, who welcomed us warmly. This hostel is bursting with life, whether thanks to the animals that constantly surround us — cats, dogs, chickens and birds — or thanks to the enriching activities, like yoga or turtle release. Thank you for these pleasant moments, and we look forward to seeing you again!
Vegetarian and vegan options (hello seitan steak), THAT ARE GOOD! Really great spot with tasty food.
As a vegetarian traveling through Central America, I hadn’t eaten as well anywhere else as I did in Barca de Oro. The food was absolutely delicious and exceeded all my expectations!nnOn top of that, the yoga classes and massages created a truly transformative experience to my trip.nnThank you!!
This place has everything and the hospitality is amazing. Mariana speaks English well and arranged all of our tours with English speaking guides. She is an incredibly sweet girl. I also had a short chat with her mom who build this entire place from a barren land. We stayed in one of the bamboo houses which was a very unique experience!! It was so beautiful! It is clean and managed well. I was very worried about not having any A/C, but I felt cool at night with the fan. The water pressure in the shower wasn’t great, but I think they will fix it if you ask them. I did a massage with Mariana which was amazing. Food in the restaurant also good! It was nice to sit at the restaurant in the morning and watch the fishermen bring in their fishes. One thing to note is that there is plenty of mosquitoes, but with insect repellent, it is manageable. Overall, we had a very good experience!!!
Excellent place, good service, place to enjoy with the family, good prices
I didn't sleep here, but I did eat there three times. It was delicious, the staff were very attentive, and the view of the bay was beautiful. Highly recommended!
Had a dinner there with daily fish. Was a bit dry to me. But a good portion.
The place is close to the sea but not right in front of the sea. Access to the beach depends a lot on the tides.nGood service. Although they say they accept card payments, sometimes they only accept bank transfers.
A nice and safe place to visit with the family
We had a double room with a bathroom and air conditioning. Everything worked and was comfortable. It's a great place to relax. There are hammocks, sofas, a pool table, and a beautiful view. Fishermen live next door; the owners are very friendly. The food is good, sometimes a bit oily, but delicious. It's great value for money!nAnd don't forget to book a massage; it's very good and very relaxing!
Rating only applies to the restaurant - it was okay but nothing extraordinary.nBut the waiting time was way too long - 50 minutes for 4 dishes. No go.
We had a delicious brunch here and really enjoyed our dishes, all made with care using fresh fresh ingredients.nThe staff were very friendly and accommodating and the view of the estuary was peaceful and quiet as fisherpeople went about their tasksnYound women pass by with fresh fruit and vegetables carried on their head. We bought some produce and they were very pleased.nI recommend this place as a restaurant. I did not have the opportunity to spend the night so will update if I do but their garden area was big and beautiful and very inviting.
Very good restaurant, lots of vegetarian and vegan choices. Best natural lemonades for 50C.nThey also offert lots of seafood and i have no dobts they are also good. Bill includes 10% servis, but they deserve it :)
A disaster. There was no water but there were red cockroaches. I paid for two nights and didn't sleep a single night.
A generous dedicated human team in a magical place with some of the best healthy food eaten in Nica. Thanks to Sandrine, her team, her daughter and her husband for their care, sincerely an address where you drop off and welcome the magic of this place
