Service was great and the location was fantastic right on the beach. Unfortunately we can’t say anything good about the food. We ate there twice and both times the food was terrible. I had to cut the snapper with a knife as it was chewy and tasteless. The pasta sauce inedible even the fish and chips was awful. The bar and staff and entertainment are wonderful. So go for drinks just don’t eat here
Pros:nGood atmosphere and live music (on Fri)nCons:nWe waited for over an hour to get the food.nWe ordered the broiled sea food which was disaster (cold and hard fish, overcooked small lobster). Malaysian noodles was OK.nSome taxes are not included in the menu's prices, so expect additional charges - 72$ for 2 dishes and 2 margaritas
The food is delicious, they have a nice atmosphere, and the menu, while not very varied, leaves you enchanted with its flavor.nn100% recommended
Great beach bar with sunset views. Casual and fun. Live music as well.
Excellent choice for a cold draft and fish fry! Shout out to the amazing cooks in the kitchen. Thanks again ladies for an amazing meal!
The Boat Bar had a great vibe and was super welcoming. We came here several times during our stay in West End. Seafood boil was super tasty and the Sampler platter was great for sharing. Drinks were good too (though I wished they had mojitos…) The Fire Show on Wednesday night was great too!
We came here for 7 days straight - great food and drinks. Omarion and Derrick are great!
A fun place, right on the beach, to enjoy great food and drinks at reasonable prices! We stopped in almost every day on our vacation!
Great bar to just hang out and grab a beer. The staff members were very nice!
Really nice spot right on the beach, service was out of this world, we really enjoyed this spot. We had the nachos which were 10/10 super huge and fresh and the seafood boil. The seafood boil was fun but so so buttery (was it butter or margarine?) and the crab tasted frozen. it was ok but would not order it again. The nachos on the other hand ;)
Definitely one of my favorite places on the island!
I don’t post reviews but this place is an exception. We have been in Roatán for the last week and have eaten out for almost every meal. This is the best food we have had on the island hands down. Vegetarian and non vegetarian options that are flavorful and refreshing while still being filling. 10/10 will come back here next time we visit.
Great food and drinks and the owners are super nice peoplenSeafood boil on Fridays. It's some of the best you'll ever have
Nice casual spot right on the beach. We went on a Wednesday night and the fire dancers were awesome! A must see. The food was just ok. The coconut shrimp appetizer was tiny and very overcooked. My fish sandwich was nothing special. My husband had a pasta something and that was really good so I just ordered the wrong thing I guess!
We had lunch and dinner here. The Greek salad was fresh and delicious. The Grouper Sandwich was fantastic. The kind staff could not be more accommodating.
Great relaxing, Caribbean no shoes, no problem vibe, located right on the beach! We attempted to visit other restaurants and bars in the area, but the quality of the food, service, and location kept pulling us back to the Boat Bar.nWe were in Roatan for five days and ate dinner all four of the nights we were on the island.
The seafood broil was really tasty; a bit hard to open the crab legs until we asked for a tool.nnThe other appetizer platter we ordered: the fried food all tasted old and was barely warm.
Update. Still love the people but the food has gone way way downhill. Probably not going to order it again . They really need to just hook up with like a young hot chef and let him take over. The service lately too ask for everything twice and then have to go to the bar for the third ask . Bummer.nGreat locals place. Really nice people that always take care. They have live music many nights. Often have fire dancers also. Friday night fish boil. Taco Tuesday. There's a beach out front with chairs. Great place to watch the sunset.
Really nice place!nI especially recommend Friday, sea food evening!!
Great beach bar and nice beach
It can get very busy. The food is good and staff are great. Regularly have events like live music and fire dancing.
Amazing food, great drinks, great prices! Best coconut shrimp on the island!!!
Great team working there. They took care of us and we had a loud and big group. Live music was a plus
Friday night seafood boil was delicious!! Great live music. Reservations recommended.
I believe the food was fresh. Difficult to say. Taste was clouded by copious cigarette smoke. This place is not for healthy non smokers. Don’t be fooled by the signs. We were the first patrons of the day. As soon as we placed our orders, the place was inundated with inconsiderate smokers. We chose to make good on our orders, since orders were already placed. We should have just paid and left. It was miserable.nMany patrons appeared to be loud, obnoxious US expat smokers who have no couth nor consideration. I noticed a server also smoked which is disgusting and unsanitary. If you are a smoker, you will probably feel right at home. For the rest of us, consideration should be noted.
Great food, great staff, and a great view!!! All our meals and service have been wonderful!
Love this place and the owners. Food and service are great. We went a few times while staying on the island. Would highly recommend
The best place to eat, drink and have a good time...the people that assist you are the best...
Loved the Seafood Boil special on Friday night! Great musician and service - total island vibe.
We found the boat bar on accident and returned several times. Escape the crowds by water taxi or walk the beaches. Great place.
Hit this place for Taco Tuesdays, they are delicious. The staff was very friendly and the drinks strong. Like beach volleyball? There is always an oportunity to get some games in here.
We had heard about the Boat Bar’s famous seafood boil on Friday nights so messaged them in advance of our trip to make reservations. Took a water taxi from West End to the dock nearby. Seafood boil was excellent consisting of crab, lobster, shrimp and veggies. Others in our group ordered off the menu and food was very good. Live acoustic music during dinner was a mix of classics. Place filled up fast and reservations needed. Our server Derrick was great, very friendly and attentive- bringing food/drinks and empty bowls for the seafood shells. Owners Carrie and Edwin were super friendly and responsive to our message with questions. Edwin even gave us a lift back to town at the end of the night! Great food and fun. Totally recommend and look forward to coming back soon.
Great food, friendly people.
Great beach bar near Turtle bay. Mario the bartender was kind, friendly and fun to chat with! We enjoyed our food and drinks here very much. Our favorites were the crispy fried chicken Sandwhich and there monkey lalas. We’d come back here time and time again. We’re went out here 4 times while here for a week. Highly recommend! It’s a nice break from the resorts and more touristy bars and restaurants.
