This tiny little restaurant has some of the best food on the island. I highly recommend the spring rolls, and the fish and chips might be some of the best available. Can’t go wrong with the spicy marg either. Looking forward to my next meal here!
One of my favourite restaurants I have been to in all of Honduras. Staff is very friendly and the food is amazing. Hands down will be back. An absolute must if you are visiting Utila.
Highly recommended by others, so we decided to try it out.nnThe place is small. Only a few tables so get a reservation. The service is very good. The single server is friendly and helpful. Food is also good. Not many items on the menu but they are delicious. The indoor seating is nice, basic and comfy. The closed exterior door reduces the chances of sand flea bites.nnAll in all a pleasant evening. Would go again when back on Utila.
This was most definitely the best food we had while visiting Utila. It is worth the extra cost to have a high end delicious meal. We had the shrimp spring rolls, crunchy salad with chicken and fish and chips. Everything we had was impeccable and the mojitos are the best I’ve had anywhere. I loved all of the fresh vegetables. Give them a try!!
Awesome boutique spot. Dinner was fabulous. Had Beetroot hummus, delicious, served with the best bread I’ve ever had. Cajun shrimp bowl was amazing. Arrive hungry, it’s a ton of food. Make a reservation. Also. The location seems to have changed.
Without a doubt one of the best places where I have had dinner on my vacation and especially the treatment received, I will return
A very nice surprise after so long away from Utila. Hidden gem indeed. Great food, really nice cocktails and super nice service.
Probably one of the most upscale restaurants on the island. Very good food, portions were unexpectedly huge, so we definitely over-ordered. I'd say each appetizer is portioned to serve 4 people, so definitely don't get 2 appetizers if you are only 2 people or you won't have any room to eat your main .nnAmbiance was great, we were sat inside but I was a little jealous of the folks sat outside getting to watch the sunset. Super beautiful little spot, and I do mean little! I counted 4 tables inside (although perhaps they had combined multiple tables for a larger group), and 2 tables outside. Ask your hotel to make reservations if you're coming during a busy time.
My husband and I enjoyed a delicious meal at Captain Willis Bistro. The food was excellent, and the service was good. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, and we shared some laughs. Highly recommended!
Best place in Utila. The food, the service and the atmosphere is amazing. Don’t forget to try the churro enchilado for dessert.
The best food on the island. Completely satisfied with the quality-price ratio, we went for dinner and liked it so much that we went for lunch the next day. Good atmosphere, excellent service and delicious food. Don't miss this experience during your visit to Utila!
The food was impeccable, we even went back the next day it was so good! The service was the kind that makes you feel at home. We ate both inside and outside and both locations were very comfortable and well done. The owners are another story entirely! They were so kind and helpful and thoughtful. We ate all over the island but this is the kind of place you can’t miss.
A little expensive but tasty. Very nice with good service.
Food is simply delicious. Very tasty. Nice cozy chill ambience. Very friendly staff. The spicy chicken baguette with caramelize jalapeño is a must! Ginger beer is very good!!nCajun shrimp bowl could have 1/2 of the rice but more veggies.nThe only downside, is the little dog inside, don’t get me wrong, I love animals but personally, I don’t think a pet should be in the restaurant. Other than that, I recommended it
Delicious food and a proper amount which was refreshing !!nSpring rolls were perfection as was everything else. Everyone has to go ! It’s a must !
A delicious restaurant. The dishes are generously portioned and the atmosphere is very calm and pleasant. I recommend it as a must-visit in Utila.
Place for 'fancy food' on the island, good flavours, fresh ingredients and excellent level of customer service. In relation to quality, it is one of the most expensive places to eat on the island. But the dishes are very tasty and although the place is small, it is pleasant.
Dine in. Lovely setting. Excellent staff. Started with two orders of Spring Rolls for 3 adults. Only needed one order because of the size of the rolls. Fresh ingredients and hand made upon ordering, with divine peanut sauce. Be sure to ask for no cream cheese if you are vegan. Wife and daughter then had the Asian Cucumber salad. Yum. Also all fresh ingredients and ample portion. I had the Cajun Shrimp Bowl. Perfect level of spice, with a delightful blend of rice, beans and avocado. Shrimp cooked perfectly. We plan on ordering take out tonight to make it two nights in a row.
Very nice place. Good food. Good service from nice friendly folks.
I had driven past Captain Willis' location several times in our first week on Utila. It looked small and contemporary from the outside.nnAfter looking at the restaurant’s IF feed and reading reviews, we were expecting another fantastic meal like we had at Mango Tango, Mammut, Mister Buddah and 1104.nnWhen we arrived at 7pm for our reservation, the restaurant was full, except our table.nnHere are some of the issues we experienced:nnIt took 45 minutes before our appetizer arrived, the amazing spring rolls.nnIt was 90 minutes after we were seated when our entrees arrived.nnThen one of our diners never received his steamed fish, even though the waitress acknowledged writing it down. At that point my friend opted to not order another entree.nnAfter all of this, we then learn the restaurant doesn't accept credit cards. We were never told this when we were seated. It's not on the front door. And I took pictures of several pages of the menu and saw nothing. Luckily we were able to scrounge up $3256 in Honduran cash.nnThis was our second most expensive meal on the island. I realize many places don't accept credit cards due to the fees. But I'm happy to pay an upcharge to cover the restaurant's fees.nnI thought one of the staff members at the bar was the manager. I might be wrong. When I told her what happened with the missing entree, I felt no concern for our situation.nnNo one told us the kitchen was backed up. They were packing to go orders.nnThe food was excellent, but these issues ruined a wonderful evening.nnOne last comment. The fish soup is a meal of its own. The bowl is large enough for two to share. Full of hearty vegetables and seafood. We ordered two bowls since the server called them small bowls. Her description was not accurate.
The food and service were so good! The fish and chips and creamy ship pasta were fantastic!
The best restaurant of Utila. Shrimp tacos are my recommendation.
A higher end dining option in utila but still very reasonably priced. Ambiance was nice. Drinks were great and food was good.
We went here with our party of 5 (including 2 kids) for a dinner and a lunch. Both times the food was excellent. I probably love the starters more than the mains. Fish ceviche and squid were both delicious. Fish/shrimp tacos were lovely too. Our friend got a proper UK style fish and chips with mashed peas. Quality was high, especially compared the other restaurants where we ate during our 5 day stay on the Island (where food was either over cooked or greasy).nService was good, although on our first night service was slow, but the second time service was excellent.nDefinitely recommend this place if you are looking for high quality food.
Only place in Utila serving proper UK style Fish & Chips, with Mushy Peas! This is very exciting. Huge portion. Highly recommend.nnFirst Impression 2022:nI was not expecting much from this enclosed (air-conditioned) venue, but was more than pleasantly surprised. The ambiance is beach-chic cheery, with well balanced lighting for dining - I was worried it would be too bright, not at all.nnWill be back for the spring-rolls, and will ask for extra peanut dipping sauce (because it's awesome). Loved the Yuca fries! Tropical Salmon steak (not filet) was filling. Pineapple salsa was a perfect accompaniment.nnFriends raved about the rib-eye steak (specifically that it was well seasoned with fresh sprigs of thyme) and the highly recommended by previous guests succulently- saucy Shrimp Etouffee.nnBottle of red: I have a new locally sold favourite thanks to this meal. From Argentina, the Estancia Mendoza, Syrah Cabernet blend.nnShared the Churro desert a la mode, with all the cinnamon and sugar. Soooo yummy!nnService was impeccable. Wonderful experience from start to finish.nnWell pleased. Will be back.
I've eaten here multiple times and I love it. The food is delicious and consistent. Best Spring Rolls on the island - but - The Ribeye Steak was unexpectedly amazing. Shrimp Étouffée is my favorite dish. If you have a larger party or its busy season make a reservation - limited seating. And if you're really used to the heat you might bring long sleeves or a jacket the AC is super cold. 10 out of 10 Recommend as a MUST EAT especially for a romantic night out.
Great place all around, had dinner, liked it so much we went back for lunch next day.
My family and I all enjoyed our dinner choices. The attention to details was impressive. Elegant, clean and air conditioned. Looking forward to our next meal there.
Good place to eat a variety of things in Utila.
A good place for dinner. The food was delicious, the location is also very pretty, and the service is good. The food is fusion-style, ranging from pasta to carbonara (although they use cream), avocado and shrimp salads, and more.
Spectacular. The day we have eaten the best since we have been in Honduras. All very good and very fresh.
Hands down..the best restaurant in Utila!! Amazing food, pet friendly people and pristine service.nI got a fresh ceviche and chilled white wine.nnAsk for Minnie!
We love!!! Very delicious food, excellent service, I highly recommend. The most beautiful restaurant on the island ✨
easily the nicest/most Upscale restaurant on the Island! staff is GREAT w/high attention to the smallest detail. great AIR-CONDITIONED atmosphere!!! cinco estrellas!!!
great food, Daisy great waitress, owners could use some manners w/ customers, send our bill before they served dessert which was included in the bill, send someone to tell us to keep it down while her dog was annoyingly roaming around the place! Food took to long
Best Shrimp Tacos in Town!! Great atmosphere!!
